God Rewards Good Stewardship

God is a rewarder. This is a truth about God of which many Christians don’t seem to be aware. He loves to reward us when we diligently seek His presence, His will, and His ways. He rewards good work, and He rewards good stewardship.

God is constant; finances aren’t. In other words, finances seem to go up and down, but God is always the same. Every person I know has ups and downs financially. Even people who have a lot of money still have fluctuations in their finances. They have the same opportunities as anyone else to fret, worry, and be stressed out about money.

Sometimes we get upset with God because “He’s not coming through for us” financially. We say this even when we didn’t pray about whether we were supposed to spend our money the way we did. I’m not trying to sound unkind or harsh, but we need to know that God is not responsible for bills He does not initiate.

We are the ones who are responsible for our finances. We are the stewards of our money. We should pray and get God’s counsel before we spend money. The truth is that most of the stress, worry, and anxiety in our lives is caused by a failure to exercise good stewardship.

It’s easy to believe God isn’t out to get us, yet many Christians have a hard time accepting that God desires to bless them. Let me state it plainly: God fervently wants to bless us so that we can be a blessing to others.

God wants us to have abundance. Why? So, we are ready and able to do every good work. But as we’ve seen, having abundance is only possible when we are good stewards of the blessings God has given us.
